Among the actions being implemented to promote and facilitate mangrove restoration and conservation processes in Belize, a set of socialization sessions were held to draft the Mangrove Restoration Action Plan.

Over three days, WWF Mesoamerica teamed up with the Belize Forest Department, the Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) and other partner organizations to discuss the progress of this initiative.

In collaboration, agencies are working to conduct research processes in different protected areas, engaging with the public and identifying best practices to protect and restore mangroves in southern Belize.

The National Mangrove Restoration plan involves assessing mangrove health in protected areas and working with communities to ensure long-term conservation.
