As part of the "Together for Environmental Governance" project implemented by WWF Mesoamerica in Honduras, 14 employees of the Forest Management Department of the National Institute for Forest Conservation and Development, Protected Areas and Wildlife (ICF, for its acronym in Spanish) participated in a capacity-building workshop.

During the workshop held on November 9 and 10, 2023, the participants learned about the technical and regulatory standards for preparing and executing management plans in productive and protective forests, in line with the Manual of Simplified Standards for the Preparation of Management Plans and Operational Plans in Coniferous Forests on Land Equal to or Less than One Hundred (100) Hectares, approved by the ICF in April 2023.

In this context, WWF Mesoamerica is supporting the training and dissemination process of the regulations for their proper application in the Honduran territory, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, as well as the environmental protection and governance.

In addition, as part of the workshop's holistic approach, contents on transversal and priority issues such as the gender perspective in conservation, ethics of public officials and human rights were included, in line with WWF's principles.
