On September 11th and 12th, authorities, partners, and regional entities gathered in San José, Costa Rica, to attend the inauguration of the 'Sustainable Pacific' project, demonstrating their commitment to protecting the Great Central American Pacific Coastal Marine Ecosystem (PACA).
The "Sustainable Pacific" project aims to strengthen collaboration among the PACA region countries. It will be implemented over 4 years and is structured around three essential pillars:
With the launch of the "Sustainable Pacific," the PACA region proactively addresses its challenges and opportunities, positioning itself as a benchmark in sustainable marine management.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) implements this initiative in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and it's financed by the Global Environment Fund (GEF).

- Dissemination of practical experiences: the goal here is to use the lessons learned as guidelines for future policies and actions.
