Nicole Davison, British High Commissioner to Belize, visited the WWF Mesoamerica Field Program Office in Belize. This action responds to her interest in learning about WWF’s ongoing work in blue carbon, the coastal and marine Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) initiative, and future strategic actions that WWF will implement in Belize.

During this meeting, Nadia Bood, Senior Program Officer, and Osmany Salas, PFP Lead, presented and engaged in a discussion about WWF Mesoamerica’s work. Maxine Monsanto, British High Commission’s Climate and Environment Officer for the Caribbean accompanied H.E. Davison. This visit is part of the British High Commission’s on-going activities to gain a better understanding of Belize’s strategic actions and goals in areas of climate resilience and biodiversity management.

At the end of the session, H.E. Davison expressed interest in participating in a field visit to see some of the coastal and marine work that WWF is supporting, as well as in engaging with some of WWF’s partner agencies. The High Commissioner and WWF Mesoamerica representatives committed to staying connected.
