WWF Mesoamerica, through the Recíclalos initiative and in support of the Municipality of Antigua Guatemala, coordinated the inauguration of the first Solid Waste Segregation and Transfer Center in Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala.
This inauguration contributes to the proper management of solid waste and strengthens the circular economy. It is also expected that this first center will serve as an example for others to be implemented in the city of Antigua Guatemala, as well as others that may be established in different municipalities.
The event was attended by Víctor Hugo Del Pozo, Mayor of the Municipality of Antigua Guatemala; Andreas Lehnhoff, Director of WWF Mesoamerica; Gabriela Arias, Legal and Corporate Affairs Manager of Coca-Cola FEMSA; Sergio Londoño, Vice President of Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability of Coca-Cola LATAM; Livia Madrid, President of the ARCO Recyclers Association; and Jorge Grande, Director for Residues and Solid Waste Management of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) of Guatemala.
