PACA Principal Technical Advisor

The Principal Technical Advisor (PTA) main responsibilities is to ensure overall technical quality and strategic relevance in the implementation of components 1, 2 and 3 of the project “Towards Joint Integrated, Ecosystem-based Management of the Pacific Central American Coastal Large Marine Ecosystem (PACA)”. This position reports to the Project Manager communicating the progress, risks, constraints, and other issues associated with implementation. He/she will be  responsible for the quality and integration of the Transboundary Diagnostic assessment/Strategic Action Plan (TDA/SAP) and will accompany the development and implementation of the pilots.   He/she will oversee the preparation of Terms of Reference (ToRs) and technical reports, provide technical inputs to the Marine Resources Specialist (MRS), and guarantee a proper mainstreaming of gender issues, knowledge management, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) in components 1, 2 and 3, in coordination with the project team. This person will closely work with the project´s technical partners to provide technical inputs to the Project Manager around the implementation of components 1, 2 and 3 of the project, in order to inform the Implementing Partner and the Project Board. The PTA will provide technical advice to the Project Manager in his/her liaison role with the governments of the participating countries, the Central American Integration System (SICA), United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and other UN agencies, civil society organisations, project partners, and donor agencies.

This position will coordinate and exchange with the relevant colleagues and specialists of WWF Mesoamerica and the wider WWF Network on costal-marine issues, especially with regards to the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
