PACA Marine Resourses Management Specialist

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Marine Resources Management Specialist (MRS)  for the GEF-UNDP funded project “Towards Joint Integrated, Ecosystem-based Management of the Pacific Central American Coastal Large Marine Ecosystem (PACA), based in our office in Guatemala. We are looking to hire a passionate, creative, and dedicated professional, always willing to push the boundaries, a great team player and overall, a good human being, who understands and appreciates the value of leading by example.

This position´s main responsibility will be to ensure that conservation and sustainable management of PACA´s natural resources are adequately addressed in the project. Lead the development of the TDA/SAP process with supervision from the project’s Principal Technical Advisor (PTA) and in collaboration with the Gender and Participation Specialist (GPS), following the methodology established in the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) International Waters portfolio. This person will be responsible for the development and implementation of the pilot interventions, with support from the project team, and will work closely with the corresponding responsible parties. The MRS must ensure the generation of the outputs and outcomes specified in the Project Document (PRODOC), according to the required quality standards, and within time and costs restrictions.  This position will coordinate and exchange with the relevant colleagues and specialists of WWF Mesoamerica and the wider WWF network on coastal-marine issues, especially regarding the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
